IMG_0098 copy

Spotted Scorpionfish, Scorpaena bufo.

The Florida Museum of Natural History has a nice write-up on it, and Real Monstrosities has several entertaining entries on various ones, including the first one named by Carl Linnaeus in 1758, the Black Scorpionfish.

This fish was made for lurking, and throw blankets.

But wait, there’s more!
