I dreamt a Baobab in Canada

Acrylic, Gesso, Pumice gel; 30"X40"

Acrylic, Gesso, Pumice gel; 30″x 40″

the paint smock i find in the cats’ den

when i shake it out i am covered in fur

instead i cut three holes in a black trash bag

plastic-bag-princess-protection against the gesso and pumice gel

because there is no time to change

(my bare arms goosebump)

now i paint that baobab

but the snow outside

has blurred the tree’s silhouette

how i resent having to search for references
