An Otiosic Hebetude of Portraiture

It’s been a while since I have done portraiture. My style is far more experimental and expressionistic now; not all sitters appreciate that. Most people want a (preferably) flattering resemblance. If someone wants a perfect resemblance, I recommend a photograph, or a sketch. Painting has so much potential to capture character, not just likeness, a unique opportunity of union between the artist and the sitter, a meeting of minds, the blending of two minds that may not even share one opinion. (Have I included enough commas there?)
