Night Forest

'the stuff that dreams are made of'

Night Forest

many a nightmare

many a dream

the sleepless eyes that stare

the haunting of The Scream:

that obscure night forest

eats at peaceful slumber

it nibbles and gnaws at rest

those flexing claws of an uneasy number…

they dig and scratch inside the brain;

the morning is a fresh and friendly shout,

the night sweats  pour down the drain

standing under the shower spout,

you wonder: what was that all about?
